FS: FENDER 'Road Worn' JAZZ/PRECISION (Jaco Style)

FS: FENDER 'Road Worn' JAZZ/PRECISION (w/ G&G Case)

This is a Fender 'Road Worn' Jazz Bass body, with a Fender 'Road Worn' Precision Bass neck. The bass has only been played around the house, excellent clean condition.
I built this after seeing Jaco Pastorius in his instructional video playing a Jazz Bass which he had put a Precision Neck on. http://youtu.be/4CqsmVrrJPA
I decided to use 'Road Worn' parts because they are so resonant and the necks feel great.

The difference in tone with the P neck was dramatic - way more low end and sustain. A Jazz bass with more beef and balls - which makes it even more versatile. The body and neck really "like" each other and resonate beautifully together. The action is nice and low and plays great. Bathroom scale says 8.9 lbs.
Here's a recording of me messing around, it's just a low volume practice amp/iphone, but you can get a feel for how much character it has, especially for slap. http://youtu.be/y4CjDx7WOwI

It comes with a Fender G&G vintage style hard case, with plush interior, which I bought separately.

I really hate to see it go because I feel like this particular body and neck have chemistry together that would be tough to recreate. But I'm a gigging drummer, bass is more of a hobby, and I have needs in the drumming arena that need to be funded.

I'm asking $850 shipped/ConUS
-or- $775 with gigbag, shipped safely with the neck removed

I too have a parts jazz with a P neck. I agree! Piano-like jazz tone with way more balls. This sounds like a gem of an instrument.

Just to clear something up....The "thumb rail" in the photos is attached only to the pickup covers, not to the body of the bass. I used a small amount of Elmer's glue which is water soluble, so it can be removed without a trace very easily.

You see many more p basses with jazz necks, but I like this better; jazz body/p neck. Cool thumb rail as well.
