This is my 3rd Roscoe Beck model I've owned and as much as they've all been awesome, this one is the best I've owned.
Basic specs:
- 1997 Model
- Sunburst
- Alder/Pau Ferro
- Hipshot Ultra-lites
- Beat up hardshell case included
- A hair under 10 lbs.
If you look at the pics, you can see there's a lot of wear. Everything is totally fine structurally. Just a lot of finish checking. It's got mojo for sure.
Slight mods:
- Parchment pickguard
- Sadowsky knobs
- Neck profile slightly shaved down to Sadowsky specs. I know some don't like the bass because the neck is too fat, but this one was shaved to a standard Sadowsky spec. It's still rather large to be honest, but much more manageable than a stock RB.
- The body finish is checked, but the neck finish is flawless. Slight gloss, but buffed a bit.
- String bar installed. The original 3 string tree will be included. I think the B-string got a bit tighter after this.
- Refretted and dressed. Jumbo frets I think.
- Dunlop dual design straplocks.
What's so special about this one? It's got the fattest and growliest sound out of the 3 I've owned. And it's also a pound lighter than the others. All the work was done by Eric's Guitar Shop, a very reputable shop in Los Angeles.
$1200 shipped.
