FS: Fender Tony Franklin Fretted P-Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
For sale is my Tony Franklin Fretted Precision Bass in Golden Amber. It's in showroom shape except for a couple of dings on the headstock, which I've tried to capture in one of the pictures below. The only other sign of wear is the wear on the pickguard from adjustments to the truss rod, the specialized wrench for with is happily included. I've seen most bases straight out of the factory come with this wear, as it signifies a factory setup.

Plays and sounds like a dream. Original 70s style Fender case is included as well.

Asking $1100 shipped CONUS USA. Paypal is welcome.

Thanks!

Pics to follow - I need to compress them first....

At the moment I'm leaning heavily on the cash side, but I could be tempted by trade offers involving US PJ Spectors, MIA Jazz Reissues, or nicer J-5 strings.

I have another AVRI P on the boards right now - if you'd like to do a combo deal for both throw me an offer. Worst I can do is say no.

Alder. B neck - yep. Weight - I'll need to get back to you on this one. I think it's right there at 9 and a quarter pounds but lack a scale with the precision to confirm.

I'll need to defer to others here, as I've only played a few "true" 70s Ps in my day. It feels substantial but thinner than the classic 62 Precision style (side-to-side.)

From my experience the 70's profiles are thick and round especially down in the lowest frets.

Damn! Where were you a year ago when I was looking (unsuccessfully) for one of these?
I wish I had the funds, I would have snapped it up.
Of course that doesn't do you much good now, does it? Sorry.
