FS FODERA Monarch 5 Deluxe Near Mint 2006 Built!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
I keep going back and forth with selling this bass, as usual The best playing and sounding Fodera I've owned, but I just want a nice 4 string jazz bass. I'm playing mainly upright (4 string) and when I switch to the 5 string electric I occasionally biff while reading charts.

Excellent condition, barely any wear
mahagony body
flame maple top and headstock
maple neck
indian rosewood board with tulip inlays
emg PJ pickups under soapbar casings
pope pre
35 inch scale
10 lbs
OHSC

According to Jason at Fodera these are the same pickups in Victor Wooten's five string which kill on this bass.

If it were alder I never would have owned it and the tone would suffer accordingly, my personal preference

Whhhaaaaa???!!! Alder rules! You've done it now buddy.

EMG PJ under soapbar casings? Interesting, but I must ask: why?

The Neck PUP is designed to sound like a 5-string P PUP and the Bridge PUP like a 5-string J-PUP. Essentially this is a 5-string version of a Monarch Deluxe with EMG P-J PUPS...

Why? When it was originally built, I would imagine the person for whom we were building it wanted the P-J sound in a 5-string...
