FS: Fodera NYC Deluxe4 Spalted Top

For sale is my lovely Fodera NYC Deluxe 4-string with an amazing Spalted Maple top. Bought this bass directly from Fodera in May 2011. This bass is from the last batch of NYCs made (see headstock photo below) which some consider the best of the lot. Entirely setup and hand-finished in Fodera's Brooklyn workshop. I am original (and only owner). These NYCs with dual-coil pups have that "Fodera" sound in spades. This fantastic instrument has left the house a handful of times for jam sessions but has never actually gigged or even been in the trunk of a car! $3500 $3300 $3100
PRICE DROP
$3000 Shipped CONUS only (I am not interested in shipping outside of the US. Long story!) (Sorry, No Trades)

Specs:
Model:NYC 4 Deluxe
Top Wood:Spalted Maple
Body Wood:Alder
Fingerboard Wood:Indian Rosewood
Neck Wood:1-pc. Hard Rock Maple
Neck Joint:Bolt-on
Scale Length:34"
Strings:4
Frets:21 (Large)
FB Inlay:Pearloid Dots
Pickups:Fodera Dual Coils
Preamp:Fodera NYC 2-Band
Control Layout:NYC
Hardware:Black
Weight:~9lbs on non-digital bathroom scale

Ships with original Fodera teardrop HSC

As you can see in the pics this bass has an extraordinarily detailed Spalted Maple top. This one never made it onto the "Newborns" section of the Fodera site because, unlike most NYCs that would have been already built when it was time to buy one, Joey let me pick my own top from a few that he had and the bass was put together around that top. Here is a link to a 5-string that was made at the same time (probably from the same piece if wood). The photo is better quality than my pics but I think mine has a more dramatic and distinct
woodgrain.

Thanks for the "Wow!"
My pix don't do this top justice. In person the wood overall is a little lighter which makes the color variations and black spidery spalting pop out even more.

Made my jaw drop. That thing is TOO SWEET. What's the width at the nut?

Width at the nut is 1.5. This bass is sweet but I recently switched (graduated?) to a 5-er so I am parting with this.

Sorry Tony, no can do. I have been burned a few times by the vagaries of delivery services outside the continental US.

Maybe you have someone in the states I can ship it to and they can forward it to you?

nice bass!

i thought the used market for foderas was double this asking price? or is that the neck-thru extra string models and such?

either way, looks like a great deal on a nice bass.

Will gear lust never end? I don't think so as long as basses like this keep on going up on TB!
