FS: >>> FrankenJazz, USA Fender neck - Price Drops $5 per Day Until It Sells!!

I had this listed earlier and thought I'd try some Marketing 101. Let's have some fun. Price goes down $5 each day until it sells or I give up. You can wait for a lower price or maybe you'll wait too long. At the initial price, it's a lot of bass.

The skinny: Built on a MIM body, Fender '98 USA Jazz neck, Hipshot D-Tuner, EMG pickups, EMG electronics (2 band), BAII bridge this bass is a tone monster. Picked it up at GC, cleaned it up, swapped out the ugly pick guard, matched the knobs, shielded the cavities, etc and it turned out great. Sadly, it gets no play at all because I usually play my 5 string Jazzes.

It's not in brand new condition, there are some dings with the most prominent on the headstock about an inch long at the top front in between the E and A string. The D string tuner is very slightly bent, nothing that affects function. Most of the weight is in the body. I should have weighed just the body alone when I had it apart, but if you have another lighter body you could easily shave off two pounds. But the color is really cool, so I wouldn't.

Weight: 10lbs 4oz

For sale only, $495 PayPal'ed and shipped CONUS, no International shipping.

If you have any questions, please ask!!

Hmmm. Any dings or damage to the body itself?

There are a couple dings on the body. Looks like a total of 5-6 mini dings that are in the clear coat about the size that would happen if the guitar cord hit it. There is a quarter inch crack in the finish at the neck pocket. I pulled the neck off and verified that the crack is just in the finish, the body is unaffected. Also, when I pulled the neck off it's stamped Jan 14 1999. So I don't know if you go with the serial number or the neck stamp to date the neck. It's either '98 or '99 depending on which you go with.

The dings aren't major, I just don't want anyone to get this expecting a mint condition body. It's the type of stuff that you'll get from a bass body that is 10 years old and has been played. It definitely has not been abused.

Maybe. I'm doing an experiment. Will it generate more interest or will it encourage people to hold off?

Great idea. A local music store did that up here. They called it a Dutch auction.

What's that color called? I love it... If I didn't order a powder blue Jag bodied J pup'd SX, I'd be allover this.. Still tempting anyway just based on the color.. What are the controls? You say a 2 band, but I don't see a concentric knob..

It's hard to tell in the picture due to the angle, but it's V / Blend / Stacked Bass - Treble. I'm not sure what the color is called. I think they said is was some kind of green mist. Let me research.

EDIT: I believe it is sage green metallic.

Supply and demand dictates a $5 drop.

Bump. We're getting very close to the point where this simply becomes my backup bass.
