FS/FT: '04 Lakland Skyline Hollowbody **INCA SILVER, DUAL DARKSTARS, NEAR-MINT**

Sign in to disble this ad
It didn't appear that I could edit my older listing, so I created this new one. Sorry to those subscribed to the older one.

I must be having another momentary lapse of reason as I again consider parting ways with this gem. She's a fantastic looking, sounding, and playing bass -- but just not getting the playing time she deserves.

Comes with Lakland (TKL) OHSC. Currently strung with Lakland JO flats. I'll also include a relatively new set of Ken Smith Slick Rounds cut for the bass.

I'm the second owner. This bass has never left my house (except for a photo shoot in the front yard). The PO rarely used it and it shows. It's in NEAR MINT condition. The only flaws I can find are one small finish scratch on the body under the base of the neck and one light ding to the headstock (both shown in photos).

This is a 2004 model (Crafted in Korea), reportedly one of the first Skyline HBs off the line. Lakland indicated that very few of these came from the factory with the Darkstar pickup upgrade (about $400 upgrade). Everything you have read about these pups is true! I also recently learned that they may no longer be available?? Gave me second and third thoughts about selling this bass. But I'm expecting a new addition to the family soon and would like to free up some space and dough.

This bass sounds fantastic. It's surprisingly versatile and very dynamic. This is my first Lakland and I was blown away by the fit and finish of an "import bass." Based in my experience with this bass, I picked up a killer Skyline 44-64. Both instruments have terrific necks, but I'm finding wider necks a bit more comfortable.

High resolution pics here.

I believe that new Skyline HBs are only available in trans burgundy with Lakland's Chi-Sonic pups. This option will cost you about $1650 with a HSC.

OR, you can have this near-mint beauty in Inca Silver with factory-installed dual Darkstars shipped to your door (CONUS) for $1675 (firm). Paypal OK.
Currently looking for trades/partial trades.

As far as trades, I'm fairly picky and not looking for much. Mainly interested in 4-bangers with wide/thin necks (no jazz or fretless necks please). I might be tempted by the right 5er?

Would consider partial trades for the right (read: less than 10 lbs and good condition) bass:
  • 80s G&L (passive only)
  • other Laklands
  • Modulus Quantum 4
  • Perhaps others? Run it by me, but please don't be offended if I don't respond your trade offer.

Please send questions or offers to me via email.

Thanks for looking!

Man oh man--I have the same bass in CAR and it's spectacular. The dual Dark Stars with flats sound completely delicious, I just took mine to practice last weekend and it was just perfect for some of our stuff. Someone should grab this up--mine isn't going anywhere!

currently FT only

All emails and PMs replied (I think).

I have an offer for a straight up purchase, but I'm getting some very interesting partial trade offers and would like to leave this line in the water a little longer. Plus I sold a bass yesterday which has me re-evaluating exactly how bad I need cash; like to think about this a bit more before I do something I regret.

Hope this is kosher with TB rules. I'd edit my title to FT if I knew how, lol.

Email me an offer I can't refuse

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not really into jazz width necks.

off the market

I think I've regained my senses.

I spent more time playing her with TI jazz flats and realized this is indeed a keeper.
