FS/FT:1966 Fender Precision Bass $4250

SOLD!!

For sale is a 1966 Fender Precision bass with OHSC. I purchased it from the original owner about 3 weeks ago and it is 100% original except for a Lindy Fralin rewind of the original pickup. It also comes with all the original case candy including the strap, cord and polishing cloth (still sealed in plastic!!). The bass even had the original flatwound strings on it when purchased!! It is a feather weight at 8.2 lbs on my bathroom scale. My price is $4250 plus actual shipping costs. The bass is located in Connecticut. I would prefer a local sale and I am willing to drive to meet someone if they were interested. Feel free to contact me with your email address for some additional pictures. The only trade that I would consider would be a USA Lakland J.O. or Glaub plus cash. You can buy with confidence I am Richconn on Ebay and have a 100% positive feedback score with a 239 current feedback scores.

I had two luthiers look at the neck and they said that it was "very straight". The truss rod is right at the end of the neck, it is currently strung with medium gauge D'Addario flat wound strings and has about 0.010 relief at the seventh fret. It plays great with no dead spots and the truss rod turns smoothly. I am sure that the frets are original and they have a lot of life left. The bass had flatwounds on for its entire life which helped to keep the frets nice.

Just to make it clear the bass has 0.010 of an inch relief at the 7th fret.

I think that this is a good price too. One recently sold on Ebay REALLY cheap. It was for sale from a pawn shop which I think scared a lot of people. It is now relisted by its new owner with a buy it now of $5250. Also a 1966 refin with a refinished neck(included repro logo) sold for $2400 in change. Anyway, I feel that my price reflects the market on this bass.
