********************SOLD********************
This is the best jazz I have ever owned...it sounds and plays amazing and looks killer...and I really thought I would never sell it, but medical bills are coming in left and right...oh well. Here is what the last owner's ad said about the bass and I am including a link to his webhosting page...his pics are WAY better than mine will be( I can click some also...they just won't be as good). This is a jazz dream without going pre CBS.

Here is the original ad:
FS: 1969 Fender Jazz w/case
The bass weighs a nice 9 pounds 1 oz.! It comes with the chrome covers and even the little strip of foam on the bridge cover. And what appears to be the original black tolex case ( both of the outer latches replaced as the originals were broken) and the "F" is broken off of the logo.
The only real issue other than some normal wear, bumps and scratches, is that the finger rest was mounted above the neck pickup. The bonehead cut a small notch in the finger rest to fit it at the pickup.
The pots have the correct date codes and look like they've never been touched with no indication that anything had been change or modified. The bridge pickup is a grey bottom and looks correct. I didn't pull up the neck pickup since the pickguard seemed a bit tight there. I would have had to pull the pickguard up to make sure that there were no clearance issues in pulling up the pickup. But I didn't want to take the chance of messing up the pickguard since they tend to be fragile at this age. And since the solder joint at the pickup seemed untouched I felt that the pickup was correct.
The tuners have been swapped at some point (which is the only thing non-original.
With the changed tuners they really only had to make one new hole for each tuner to accomodate the change. I pulled a couple of tuners off of my early 70's P bass to see if the holes all lined up and if the extra hole was covered. And yes it does cover the extra hole and the shaft size is the same. )And unfortunately I don't have the original tuners for this bass.
This IS a great bass. Just enough wear on it so that someone could play it and not just lock it up as a collector. The bass is easily in good enough condition that it should appreciate in value over the next couple of years, too. Those old Klusons are worth more than the original tuners...kinda a bonus.
Will sell outright for $4,100 or would love to find maybe find a Nash or Fender custom shop, or 70's or 80's (Fullerton) P in sunburst alder/rosewood ...would love to clear a couple of grand, but would make a two bass deal if they were cool pieces. I would not rule out a Nash or Fender custom shop ,70's or 80's (Fullerton) jazz either...refins don't bother me...if they are beat up it doesn't either as long as they play and sound amazing (I'm looking for the best bang for the buck).
