For sale is a 1976/1977 Gibson G3 electric bass guitar in ebony with a maple fretboard. I just recently acquired this bass but my band is headed in a different direction (tonally) and I am in need of something else. This bass has arguably one of the best tones available for almost any musical application. The middle tone, which Gibson coined "buck and a half" is extremely unique and up front. Played with a pick and it is a MONSTER. It sounds like a chainsaw grinding into a tree. Throw it in front of a tube amp and it is over! Neck is ultra comfortable too! It has its fair share of battle scars, but that just adds to its overall image and history. This bass had a black toggle switch (as opposed to the usual white) and a black bridge (usually chrome) I have no idea if these are original or not. This bass DOES have some neck dive to it, but a strap button realignment OR a larger strap should fix it up! The electronics are flawless and this bass is ready for your next gig
There is alot of information available in regards to this bass and its history on the Internet. One example of an OUTSTANDING resource is Fly Guitars. Check them out on the web for all things Gibson bass. Please send me a message if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
For trades, I am looking for MIA (only) Fenders or whatever else you have in this price range. I can always add money to a deal as well.
For a sale price, I am looking for $670.00 shipped with the OHSC.
Cheapest you will find for a G3!

One final price drop. You will NOT find another Gibson G3 with the original case for this price anywhere. Grabbers yes, but not G3s. I am only selling it this low because there is currently another bass for sale that I NEED to have and is in a similar price range. I received this in an even trade so I am not really "losing" much so to speak.
Make me an offer!!
