FS :: 1978 Fender Precision ($1400 shipped/CONUS) GONE
I got this bass because it is identical to the one that my bass instructor played when I first took lessons 20 years ago. The nostalgia wore off quickly when I realized that it just doesn't fit my hands well. I also have no need for another 4 string bass. What I really need is a nice tight-spaced 5 string bass, and would consider a trade for the right one. I would also gladly downgrade if you bring some cash to the table. I am listing this at the high point, as I'm not in a hurry to move, but please feel free to make me any reasonable offer!
The pictures show the bass sporting a BadAss bridge and a chrome plated brass pickguard, but all of the original bits and pieces are included. The previous owner swapped out the original pots and input jack for brand new CTS pots and a switchcraft jack, but the originals are still in tact w/ all the wiring if you wanted to restore it back to original. The original "ashtray" covers are also included, along with the original bridge, pickguard and all original screws (stainless steel screws were put in to replace the corroded originals). Lastly the bass is currently sporting schaller straplock buttons, but the originals are also included. I have chosen to leave the bass as it sits, as I don't want to continue screwing and unscrewing into this bass. The only thing that is not included that was originally included with this bass is the case, but I have a very nice hard/soft case that my Valenti came in that will be included.
-- As it sits (with the BAII and chrome pickguard) the bass weighs in just a hair under 10.5 pounds. The nut is 1 5/8", which is really the only reason that I can't get used to it.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions!~ (these are the pictures that were sent to me when I picked up the bass; but the bass has been in the case pretty much the whole time I've had it, so it's the same)
