FS/FT: 1978 Gibson Ripper (LS-9 Ebony) - *Updated Trades*

Sign in to disble this ad
**FINAL Price Drop**

For sale (or possible trade) is my lovely 1978 Gibson LS-9 Ripper. It's in fantastic condition (my tech says it's the nicest Ripper he has ever seen). One of only 466 Ebony Rippers made in 1978, this one comes with the Original Hardshell Case in Excellent condition, as well as the Original Chrome Bridge Cover.
Everything works as it should, electronics are perfect (which is pretty rare) and completely original. This bass sounds HUGE! Neck is straight as an arrow. This bass would fair well in any collection or as a true players bass. I'm selling only because I have too many basses and too little money... this one will surely be missed

This bass is ALL ORIGINAL!

You can see in the pictures the few worn areas on the bass:
-Swirling on the pickguard
-A few dings on the lower side of the body
-Belt wear on the back of body

**If you're interested in hearing a Ripper in action, listen to:
Sara Bareilles - Kaleidoscope Heart - "Say You're Sorry" (JMJ on a Ripper)
Dawes - Nothing is Wrong

I'm asking $1295 SHIPPED USA, or Best Offer... (I will ship Canada/International for additional cost).

*Updated* TRADES: EBMM 4 or 5, preferably a "classic"... Sadowsky Metro 4 or 5... Fender American P's... or Keys/Synths (preferably analog).

NICE One of the cleanest I've seen in a long time. Even has the bridge cover and those are almost never with the bass.

Sure wish I had the $$ for this one

Keep Low

I wish I had the scratch for this, but I mainly wanted to commend your example use of a Ripper. i've mainly seen/heard these things used on heavy/doom/metal records and the first thing I did was youtube Sara Bareilles - Kaleidoscope Heart - "Say You're Sorry" and I was totally surprised by the genre that it was being used in. I listened a bit harder and then....yep.......thats a ripper! Killer.

Again, I wish I had the cash.

Thanks! I tried to choose some modern examples of integrating a classic Ripper sound into the world of pop, more along the lines of what I do and how I have found it useful vs the typical Mike Dirnt/Krist Novoselic examples...
