FS/FT: 1978 Musicman Stingray

This bass is classic! I am the first one to take it apart, NOTHING has been messed with or changed in any way. All original down to the screws and the hard case.
As you can see in the pics, the neck date is 78, the body date is 77 and the pots date to 77. The original epoxy preamp is there and it sounds awesome. Weight is 10.8lbs on the bathroom scale.

Here are the options I am looking at to see this beauty go to a new home:
--$2600.00
--I am interested in trades for Rickenbackers made before 1994 + cash on your end (or a pair of Ricks would be fine too)
--I can do bass plus cash on your end for the right vintage Fender P or J(made before 75)
--I will entertain Kubickis+cash
--Jaydees are always welcome
--STATUS basses with full body

At this point, other basses are of no interest...

Folks this is the real deal. In another financial Status (NOT SII ;) Jaymi) I would have never gotten rid of it and I would take it back in a heart bit if I could.

Does this bass have the deep magnet pup?

I have not removed the pickup but it is original to the bass so I do not know the depth of magnet.

A 78 is almost certainly not going to have the long magnet pickup.

Not that hard to check. My 79 has the deep pole pup. I know it's original because the body is routed for it and the finish is original. You might be surprised.
