Okay, here's a 1978 Renaissance Plexi Bass project. It's all original including case and shows typical playwear. The story on this one is that I bought it on eBay a couple years ago but seller did not disclose that the fretboard has a rise in the middle. Truss rod seems fine and fingerboard has no pull off the neck, etc. Now, I had it playing with the nut shimmed and you could probably make a taller nut and do a partial refret in the first octave and level it out fine, but the right way is to plane the board and refret the whole thing. So, I'm either going to have that done and keep it....or a TBer that can do refrets is going to end up with it, haha.
Needless to say they didn't make many of these....the cost to make must have been outrageous. From what I know about 100 of each were made of clear, black and smoked perspex. This one is smoked. Figured maple neck with ebony board, 34" scale, original Badass bridge, PAF Dimarzio P pickups, hand made active/passive preamp(very loud), old USA made Grovers, gold hardware, brass nut and control plates, original HSC with free Mickey Mouse sticker, 70s dude... The last one of these that I remember seeing for sale was at the old Bass Palace web site several years back.
SOLD
Trades? Dunno......hit me. Looking for certain models of Kramer Aluminum necks or early passive G&L. Plus cash on my end is fine.
