FS/FT: 1981 Ibanez Blazer (P Bass)

Sign in to disble this ad
Up for sale or trade is a 1981 Ibanez Blazer bass. I traded for this bass recently as I've been looking for a solid 4 string to have around the house. This bass is rock solid and nails a classic P sound cold but... I'm more of a Jazz kind of guy I guess.

Bass is wearing a new set of Diadarrio Chromes and plays with low action and no fret buzz. Truss rod works, tuners are smooth and the bass stays in tune perfectly.

Bass has a replacement pickgaurd from Jeannie, a replacement output jack and two Hipshot speed knobs. Everything else is original. Comes with a gig bag.

Here's a link to the original thread where Chris describes some fret lifting . If he hadn't mentioned it in the ad I would have never noticed.

FS/FT: Vintage Ibanez Blazer MIJ

I'm looking for $350 Shipped Conus.

Trades... 4 strings of similar value. Or can add cash for the right deal. Not looking for a p bass. Though a P/J or P/ humbucker would be perfect. So mainly a 2 pickup bass or a lightweight 12" bass cab.

I'm set on 5 strings, heads and effects but feel free to run anything else by me.

And if you're local feel free to come by and check out the bass. I have a kegerator too

Some pics... Sorry you don't get to see my crappy driveway this time but it's nasty outside.

Nice bass! Looks like it has the same P4 pups my Roadstar II has. Very nice p-bass pickups! If i didn't already have an Ibanez P-Bass I'd be hurting for this bass

Thanks! Looks like a Dimarzio P but from what I understand It's an Ibanez design.

Forgot to mention.... Bass weighs 9 lbs on my crappy bathroom scale.

From what I recall of mine, which I owned mid/late '80's, that pickup looks stock. One of the best P pickups I ever heard.

Sorry, not to derail your FS thread but here is a very applicable thread for this: Stock pickups in 81 ibanez blazer bass

And as a +1 for the seller, anyone one these forums who has played a bass with these Ibanez stock pups in it will tell you they are fantastic

Wonder why. Really great p bass sound and balances perfectly.

Might trade my guitar player this for my very first bass if nothing pops up on here.
