FS/FT: 1983 Fender Vintage Series '62 Precision Bass Fullerton Reissue

Update: Sold this one on eBay, but it didn't work out. So it is for sale again!

This is no longer for trade! (Couldn't figure out how to edit the title)

This is a "Fullerton Reissue" Precision bass, tooled on the same machines that cranked these out in the 60's. Beautiful nitrocellulose finish in three tone sunburst. Rosewood board is also very beautiful -- not a dry spot on it! All original hardware! There are some minor dings here and there, but the finish is just GORGEOUS!

Have had it for about a month. Never gigged, been in its case. The first owner pretty much kept it under his bed for 27 years. Comes with original tweed case, ashtray cover, and original receipt from 1983! Currently strung with Fender 9050M flatwound strings.

Neck is dated 1-25-83, body is dated 1-18-83. Bass weighs about 8.4 lbs.

My guess is Fender flats: they use green silk only at the bridge IIRC. BEAUTIFUL bass! If I weren't broke I'd jump on it!

No, you're reading it right. I just don't need this kind of money wrapped up in a bass guitar. I can have the same "feel" from a new, much less expensive '62 P reissue.

I have thought about keeping it, but...don't tempt me lol! this is the last thing i need -- another $1200 bass while i'm still in school!

eBay update. Alright, well...

Over the weekend i have a "pending" best offer of $2700 to a guy in the northwest.

But this bass isn't "sold" yet. As always, i'd prefer to do a sale through TalkBass, mostly because i believe in this forum quite a bit. It's given me great insight, great ideas, and at times, great confusion! (not to mention great marital problems... j/k, but my wife would probably rather me visit TB much less often).

Anyways, make me an offer if you want to pick it up before it goes later this week!
