As much as I would love to hold onto this baby, the surly individuals in the dive bars of this town combined with 20+ year old basses is not a cocktail I want to witness the results of.

I can't get my hands away from the Pedulla I picked up recently enough to justify rick ownership, I believe there are greener pastures out there yet for this axe.

It has had one previous owner, there is no belt wear and it is in considerably good shape considering the age.

I believe it is dated at 1985 according to the Jackplate, any aficionado's out there, feel free to correct me.

Pedulla's, High-end fenders or cash would be the best bait to get this fella into your woodshed. Feel free to shoot me a pm with any questions.

Edit: Reduced to 1450US!

Truth be told I would prefer a deal involving cash and a trade. If a hardcore rick fan out there absolutely has to have it though, I can always go shopping on locally for my next player.

For a straight sale I would like to see 1900US, shipped via UPS Express to your door in a heavy-duty Flight case, I will post up pictures of the case if this is still here by Sunday.

d'oh. shoulda bought it when it was on craigslist. it's hard to tell, but i think it's midnight blue rather than azureglo. i could be wrong, but from the pics it looks more like a metallic blue than a matte. if it is mid, than it's somewhat rare one of the few 4001 MIDs.

It is not Azure, at least from my recollection. Mine is Azure from what I have been told, if I am wrong please let me know.

As for the asking price of $1900, that is a bit high. I have seen those models go for 1300 to 1500 in recent months. You never know, the right person may come along that has to have that exact color.

According the Ric website, your bass was made in August '85. Azureglo and Midnight Blue apparently overlapped for two years: '84 and '85, but I have no idea how to tell the difference.

In addition to the 'too high' nonsense, I've sold three early 80s azureglos in the pst three years all for 2k. although they were a little different.

He said he doesn't want to really sell it and its a little rude calling him out on the price in public. When I see Warwick Fortesses for $1200 even though I bought and sold a couple for half that I don't say anything.

+1. If you want to offer lower, PM the seller. He's within his rights to ask his price, whether or not you or anyone else agrees with it.

Yeah, I really would be preferring a trade to an outright sale right now, although catching up on dentist bill's wouldn't be against my interest.

My wisdom teeth = Your Tone!

In regards as the PM's I have received, I appreciate some of the beautiful offers but I am currently not in the market for fretless, or another 5-6 string at the moment, sorry!

That's Midnight Blue. Has a more metallic look to it. The picture down the page a few is Azure-Glo. Beautiful basses, both!

If 1985 is "40+ years ago", I suddenly got a whole lot older.

Bump and price drop, Flight case removed from sale

$1300US shipped is more in line with what Rick's have been going for recently. will ship via UPS in a fitted hardcase, boxed with insurance.
