Sadly for me and fortunately for you, I've decided to put this sweet thing up for sale, as I've mainly switched over to guitar and I need money
It's a 1986 EBMM Stingray, one of the very first basses made after Ernie Ball bought Music Man. She's got a one-piece ash body with a trans-teal finish, clear pickguard, flame maple neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. It's virtually identical to an early 80's bass, sans the little "Ernie Ball" mark over the vintage logo. It has the 2-band EQ that people go crazy for, a 4-bolt neck joint, skunk stripe, metal battery plate, string mutes, and the bullet trussrod. Totally retro Stingray, and totally original from top to bottom.
It's in fantastic playing condition; everything works perfectly and sounds great. The frets have very little wear. However, the bass does have some cosmetic wear on the body. It looks a lot like a Fender relic treatment- belt rash on the back, peppered with random small marks and chips. The tuners and bridge have some tarnish. There are no cracks or anything bad; just bumps and chips in the finish from 23 years of use. Despite the mojo, this thing sounds so GOOD! It's all the reasons people jump at the older Stingrays. It can bounce, it can sing, it can cut.
I'm looking for $1,000 shipped anywhere in the CONUS.
The only trades I'd consider would be a good Marshall 4x12 guitar cab plus cash (pref. a JCM800 or 1960), a Gibson Les Paul, or maybe some other guitar or amp. Mainly looking for a sale, though. NO offers for bass gear, please!
