FS/FT: 1999 wenge-neck Warwick Corvette 5

FS/FT: beautiful 1999 wenge-neck Warwick Corvette 5-string bass. I picked this up to try out the wenge, but discovered that I prefer the fatter neck profile (blasphemy!!

). As such, this gorgeous specimen is up for sale. Fantastic shape for a 10-year old instrument - it has been played, but it has been very, very well cared for. The only real flaw is a tiny ding on the back of the upper horn, but it is ~ 1/2 an inch long and is not noticable unless you're looking for it.

Asking $900 shipped in the USA. For trades, I'm really only looking for other Warwick 5-strings, + or - cash as necessary: Streamer Jazzman 5, SSII, Streamer LX Jazzman, etc.

This IS a post 1998 with fat(baseball bat) neck made out of ovangkol and not wenge as you describe it!

Not sure if you're joking or being serious, but the serial number ends in 99, the neck is pretty clearly wenge, and the profile is definitely the slimmer profile

You should post some detailed pictures of the neck(not fingerboard).All Warwicks made from 90' to 1998 hade wenge necks and slim profile necks. After 1998 they were made with ovangkol wood and had "fat baseball neck" profiles. Your dates from 1999 so I would say that it has "fat neck" profile made out of ovangkol.

As I said before detailed pictures of the neck would celar this out.

It wasn't a drop-dead event - the ovangkol necks and new profile were phased in (drastically at the start of 1999) and wenge phased out across 1999-2000. Notice how the fretboard and neck are the same wood - they're both wenge. I can post some more detailed pics after I get home from work if you'd like, but in the meantime here is a picture of my ovangkol-necked, larger-profiled 2006 Corvette (which is NOT for sale

)... obvious difference.
