As there seems to be a bit of a glut on the market, I have decided to offer my 2003 Rickenbacker 4003 bass up for trade. It is blue. I am not sure what this color was called in 2003- Azureglo or Midnight Blue. In any case, it is very nice condition. There are a few chips and dings and some very light buckle rash, but nothing significant or that affects function or playability in the slightest. The photos attached should give you a pretty good idea of its condition.
The bass is equipped with a Pickguardian pickup plate and also includes the original pickup cover. It also includes the original hardshell case.
The bass is a wonderful player. It sounds great and hangs well. The neck is very comfy and easy playing, with a nice medium thin profile. The bass weighs 9.0 pounds.
This is without question the nicest Ric I have played. Things change, however, and this instrument does not really fit in with my needs anymore. Therefore I would like to trade it for a nice higher-quality Jazz (think Sadowsky Metro, Lakland US or Fender CS) or maybe a 4-94 or something. 70's Fenders are also always of interest. Some cash can be exchanged, and I would rather trade up than down. The bass can be purchased outright for $1,500 shipped in the continental US, Paypal is fine.
