This is an awesome playing, sounding and looking instrument, incredibly light and versatile sounding. I'm pretty much playing only 5-strings these days, and this bass is too nice to not be played out regularly. It's in excellent shape, I believe the only blemish is the usual ding these basses get at the tip of the headstock. The finish is Radiance Red, which is a special order, a really nice deep sparkly color, much nicer than the usual candy red. It's a bit hard to photograph, but you can get the idea (click on the pics, they are pretty big). Lots more pictures here:

There is also a short sample of the bass there, my quick attempt to show that the bass can indeed do old-skool Sabbath sounding tones, this is direct from the bass to my sound card:
http://sumitdas.net/bongo/bongo_sabbath.mp3. It also really excels at aggressive modern sounds, and the
18 volt preamp and
4-band eq is the most powerful tone shaping tool I've found on any bass.
I have replaced the strap buttons with Dunlops, and the lower button has been moved over a couple of inches to improve the balance even more. No neck dive here!
It comes with the original EB hardshell case. I think it's wearing DR steel LowRiders, I can swap those out for Dunlop Nickels if you would prefer.
I know there have been many jabs at the look of the Bongo, but it's actually a very neat unified design, and I've actually gotten lots of compliments on the bass every time I've played it out.
Asking
$850 shipped in the continental US. If you're local to the Los Angeles area, the price will be lowered accordingly.
As far as trades, I'm open to lots of things (especially 5-string fretted basses), with cash thrown in to make it a fair trade. Some ideas:
- Fender Roscoe Beck V
- Fender Precision Deluxe 5
- Roland
VB-99
- Carvin SB5000
- Bergantino NV610
Let me know if you have any questions.
