FS / FT: 2006 Lakland Duck Dunn w/ Lindy Fralin

Sign in to disble this ad
I currently own a couple Lakland P-basses and have a specific need for a Jazz styled body as it will be easier to mount a Roland GK-3B to it since the input jack won't be right next to the bridge as is the case with their P-bass styles.

CASH SALE: $899 OBO shipped in the US.
TRADE: No trades at this time, I just purchased a factory new Lakland 44-60 to satisfy my Jazz body need.

My Duck Dunn has the following:

* 2006 Korea made
* Plek'd (according to previous owner)
* Lindy Fralin P-bass pickup
* Includes stock white and a much more sexy black pickguard
* Gig bag
* Only minor visual wear

Scroll down for a series of much higher quality photos.

High resolution photos. It's still overcast here but there should be enough natural light for you to see exactly what I have here. Just to clarify this is not a brand new instrument. It's a 2006 that has been played, but definitely not abused. There's only very, very minor visual evidence of wear. No cracks, chips, significant scratches, etc.

The only thing you'll likely even notice on inspection is the few tiny head tip dings (pictured), some minor pick guard swirling and scratches, and that the neck is flawlessly smooth and perfect still, and that the this instrument is absolutely dead sexy. It has always lured gawkers and comments every time I played with it, as have all of my Lakland basses. It's the sexy bound-n-blocked necks with matching headstocks IMO.

Beautiful bass, a white pearloid 'guard would make that a real DD!

Bump for a lovely bass.

Just to clarify - any instrument I trade for needs to have ample space between the bridge and the nearest control/plate/jack so I can install the Roland GK3-B controller. See the photos of my Lakland Dude Pit P-bass with the controller installed in both the overhang method (required since the jack is too close) and how it would look if I could actually install it flush on the body (requires a jazz body).

The controller is 3.5" wide at the edge of the body, and about 2.5" wide from the rounded part to the opposite side. On the Lakland pictured (and the Duck Dunn) there is about 2.5" of space between the edge of the bridge and the tone knob. So I need an instrument with that much free-and-clear body space to securely mount the Roland controller to the body without it compressing on a pickguard or covering any other controls.

Note that while I currently own some sweet Laklands, I'd also consider some compatively less expensive instruments as long as they have the physical space for the Roland controller and play extremely well with no significant buzzing, dead spots, and can be setup for dead spot-on intonation. In fact, I'd be happy with a body and neck with no electronics since I'll just trigger everything from the GK pickup. But it has to play well and play cleaning.

My dream would be someone with a Lakland Darryl Jones 4-string in blue, red, or black with Lindy or Aero pickups that wants to trade.

Thanks for everyone's interest. And thanks for reading my blathering.

My Dude Pit Limited (1/30)

How it would currently install.

How it would install if I had a jazz style bass.

I know this doesn't fit what you need as far as the space between the bridge and the controls but since you are going to use a midi pickup you could always remove one switch and one knob and it would fit fine...What I have is a US G&L L2000 just about mint condition with a jazz width neck I might be willing to trade, plays awesome, I love this bass but I always wanted a Lakland DD in red....Let me know what you think.....

nitrofix - sorry, not interested

livinglow - If it's a custom color, definitely. If it's all stock black, maybe. Hit me up with photos and details and exactly what you were thinking.

Note that I've owned a variety of Lakland instruments, including an Indonesian Duck Dunn with Lakland pickups that I sold and replaced with this Korean w/Lindy model which I personally like wayyyy more than the Indo. The only reason I'm selling/trading is specifically to be able to mount the GK controller.

That's what the previous owner told me, and it has the skinny, perfectly rounded frets as opposed to the flat crowned frets you typically see with hand leveled frets. But feel free to school me if you need to, I won't take offense.

I have a pristene Lakland Skyline Decade 1. Translucent cherry finish,
bound & blocked neck, black headstock. I can't seem to load photos
to this site (I'm computer lame), but I'll e-mail pix if interested. The
input jack is located on bottom edge.

Sorry, I only play 4 strings and the control knobs are in the way of where I'd mount the GK controller. But thanks for the offer.
