Traded for SR5! - Thread Closed
Still undecided on letting this one go, but I'll put it out there. I purchased from another TB'er in March of this year and then put the Lakland/Hanson pickups in (also from another TB'er).
The bass is in excellent condition, but there are a few marks around the edges that were there when I received the bass. They are hard to spot, but could probably be buffed out. There is one ding on the headstock.
As far as specs, it's a Black/Maple 2008 Fender USA Jazz 5, so it has all the "upgrades" from Fender, plus the addition of the professionally installed Lakland pickups, better shielding, and an Orange Drop cap. (*** Disclosure *** - I did the work myself, but I'm an electronics engineer, so any electronics work I do is "professional" by definition...

)
I noticed more mid-range grind and tighter lows with the Laklands, though the top end might be a little muted compared to the more "scooped" sounding Fender pickups. The bass also includes black and white pickgards, Dunlop Straplocks, and the original Fender pickups, plus the Fender HS case (with keys) and some of the case-candy (everything I got - wrenches, tags, manual, etc.).
The bass plays and sounds great! It's definitely a JAZZ bass and it has a terrific B-string. Really, really nice B-string. The action is low and it's got a great, even sound all the way up the neck. The main reason I'm selling is because I use my G&L's almost exclusively and I still prefer the "jazz bass" tone of my Warmoth 4-string when I need that sound. Great as it is, it just doesn't get played a lot.
At this point, I won't sell the bass without the Fender pickups included in the sale.
$975 Shipped w/Lakland AND Fender pickups.
$875 Shipped w/Fender pickups only.
I'm not really set up to ship internationally, so I'd prefer to keep it in the USA.
Trades considered: G&L 5-strings w/
Ebony fingerboards. L2500 or L1505. Probably fretted as one fretless L2500 is enough. Might consider other 5-strings, or even 6-strings, but I'm mainly looking to cash out as I have my eye on a particular bass.
