FS/FT 2008 Lakland JO5 CS (55-60) with Chi-Sonics!

Sign in to disble this ad
This is a 2008 Indonesian Skyline JO5. Plekked, with a maple board and a factory installed bone nut. It was built brand new at the end of 2008 as a CS with the Chi-Sonics installed (along with the Tort guard) at Lakland the time of purchase.

I am the original owner, it has never been gigged or spent the night out of it's gigbag, and the bass is pretty much in the same condition as it was the day it was delivered to me brand new.

The only trade interest is a partial trade towards a 55-94 (the older the better). SOLD PENDING PAYMENT! Thx!

PRICE NOW INCLUDES A HARD CASE!

How do the chi sonics sound compared to the standard j pickups?

MY thoughts on a J with ChiSonics. They have a thicker wider tone. Lows are nice and strong...very punchy. Tons on mid texture. Highs are nice and glassy. You can go from a nice clear bell tones, to down right angry.

Exactly what Markus said...I have Lakkies equipped with both. LOVE the Chi's. The great thing about them is that you can replicate the standard J-sound exactly if you want, or turn the neck pick up way down and make the bridge growl like a Ray!

Yes they do! I had a Korean Skyline and there is no fall off in quality between the 2. You'd never even know unless you looked at the back of the headstock. Until you play it, that is... All the Indonesian ones are plekked, and that does make a difference.

This one plays so smoothly that it's almost like a fretless! I'm reluctantly parting ways with it only to make a run at a US Lakland...

Exactly my thoughts, except mine's a four-banger. Bump!

I can only echo what has been said here....Chis can give you a nice edgy J type sound as well as get agressive.....I love to switch between my JO with CHIs and my JO with Hanson J pickups for a little variety...personally, I think the CHIs growl more...

I'm surprised it's still here! Serious J bass goodness here...it will ruin you for other J basses!
