Thinking of selling or trading my 2010 Sadowsky MV4 in vintage tint ash body, maple neck, with tort guard. YES IT HAS THE VTC. She sports the single coil Sadowsky PUP's not the humcancling. Comes with Sadowsky hard polyfoam case. Perfect shape, light weight and perfectly balanced, I think it is about 8 1/2 to 9lbs or so, one tiny indent on top of body. Plays and sounds great-like all Sadowskys do right? Lately I am getting more into Precision basses, mainly because the body shape feels more comfortable to me so I am thinking of selling this to get some sort of P bass-probably another Sadowsky. Pics will be posted soon-when I get home from work.
Paypal price is $1795 shipped to lower 48 U.S. States only
Or I would consider trading for the following:
1. Sadowsky HPJ in same condition but must have the VTC
2. Fender Tony Franklin Fretted(you would have to add some cash)
3. Vintage Fender P Basses(must be in perfect shape with no dead spots on neck, and I am very picky.)
4. Lakland USA P Basses

Great price. Btw, all the hybrids have VTC standard so if you find one to trade you're all set. Best of luck with the sale

| | Totally into Geddy Lee & Mark King ! | | Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: Sonoma County, California ! | | | I'm curious - I'm "new" to the whole jazz bass thing. I come from the modern school of Peavey Cirrus, Alembic, etc.
Due to my dive into the classic rock scene lately, my Cirrus is too modern and I've been through 10 p and jazz basses and my $200 "WEST" bass blows them all away.
Based on the threads here, Sadowsky is the "Alembic" of old school style basses and I'm confused as to why you want to trade for a Lakland or a Fender. I'm sincere with this question. It sounds like you already have the Unicorn, or is it just that you have bass playeritis aka GAS and we need to continuously have new gear ?
In other words, if you already have a top shelf bass with no dead spots, why would you risk getting a bass that could have dead spots ?
Please educate me because I am looking for the "last" jazz bass I want to buy.

Sadowsky basses are fantastic, the company doesn't make any junk, I have an NYC Sadowsky jazz and simply love it. This Metro is fantastic as well but I recently picked up a vintage Fender P bass and remembered how much I love Precision basses, I think it is the body shape that just feels a little better to me than the jazz body shape-of course this is all preference, since most people tend to prefer jazz basses it seems. All of that being said, I guess I just don't have the money to afford to keep more than 3 or 4 basses, I decided that I want another P type bass so this will have to go to pay for it or trade for it. My first choice of trades would be for a Sadowsky HPJ which is very much like this MV4 but has a P style body and P pickup, my second choice is a Tony Franklin Fretted Precision which I have never owned but everyone says they are made very well and I feel that I would be happy with since it should play and feel very much like my 1973 Precision but will have the added versatility of the jazz pickup. After that my choice would be another high end P style bass like Lakland USA which I have never owned but by all accounts are of the same high quality as Sadowsky, I also threw out there vintage Fender p basses just to see if anyone had one to trade but it would really have to be the "right bass" I guess I would prefer a cash deal so I can buy what I want. Does my long winded response answer your questions?

Overall, I get it... Thanks !
