FS/FT: ACG Recurve Singlecut 5 (SOLD)

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD

One of the best playing, uber-fast, crazy low action 5 I've ever had. It's very light (8 lbs per bathroom scale), very well balanced, superior craftsmanship and amazing woods. Also, it has the famous John East / ACG filter pre-amp. So, why am I selling it?

Despite the balance and playability, the single-cut style is just not for me. I never knew how much I wrap my thumb over the top of the neck until I got this bass. Also, while the pre-amp seems to be able to create just about any tone you could think of, I've come to the conclusion that it is simply too complex for my needs.

Bottom line is, this bass is really very, very nice and is in excellent condition. It's just the wrong fit for me.

I'm looking for another nice 5er with a simpler eq and a double-cut body style. Let me know if you have something interesting.

UPDATE: Just picked up an MDT 535 so, I'm covered for a 5 string now and just need to sell this beauty to cover the new MTD.

I'll sell it outright for $1675 (YEA! I know, crazy cheap, right?)

I'm also posting a Lakland USA Joe Osborn 4 too. So keep your eyes open for that.

Thanks,

Do you have more specs on the bass? Woods, scale length, string spacing at bridge? etc?

Ah. . . Good point. Thanks,

The body is Black Limba with a Claro Walnut top. Neck woods are Mac Ebony /maple/limb/maple. Finger board is Mac Ebony. The string spacing I believe is 17mm. Neck scale is 34".
