Now there are 2 of us who are out of our minds... (Misery loves company, and I finally found a companion..)
The reality is that I was dealing with was that even more "rare" Alembics like these epics should never be "rarely played" basses and mine was. That coupled with a brand new $17,000 deck that was being built shortly thereafter only pushed me over the edge....
Fingergroove...I still owe you some photos of the deck now that it's done. As soon I get my digital fixed, I'll show you where the bass money went. I do miss the bass. More than you can imagine.
Dude's $1,800 is great deal for the Epic, and the wear spots....Those can be easily repaired by any local luthier for less than you might think....
Upward and onward...

And yes, Mr. Italian, I am dying to see that deck. You could have gotten quite a rig for what you have into that. And I still owe you a few clips of this thing in action.
This should sell. One of the most playable basses I've ever picked up. The range of tones from those Alembic pickups are incredible. I've almost all but put away my 72 Jazz in favor of this (almost...).
For what it's worth, I had the good folks at Alembic look up the build specifics on mone. Assuming they are the same, this is quite a bass. As follows;
top: Flame Maple
accent: Maple and Purpleheart double pinstripe
body: Mahogany
set neck: 3-piece Maple with 2 Walnut pinstripes, 34" long scale
fingerboard: Ebony with pearloid ovals
birthday: late July 1998
Good luck. If I didn't already have one, you'd be packing it up and shipping it to me. |

1. The economy
2. The pictures link doesn't work again. Nobody is going to buy if they can't see what they are making an offer on.
