Smile FS/FT - All original Fender 83 P bass and Custom Benavente Vortex 5 string

Sign in to disble this ad
Alrighty. 2 basses. $1500 + shipping for the Vortex, $1100 + shipping for the P Bass. Also interested in trades for a Sadowsky, Nordy, Nash, Lakland, Fender or something along those lines. I prefer fivers, but run anything by me. Willing to trade one or both for the right deal. The worst i can say is no.

Pics being uploaded tonight.

Benavente Vortex 5 string specs
- Buble Maple top
- Alder body
- 3 piece maple/wenge/maple neck
- Bird's eye maple fretboard
- Blue abalone block inlays
- Matching headstock.
- Hipshot bridge
- Hipshot ultralight tuners
- FretFX blue LEDs
- 35" scale
- Dimarzio Ultra-J pickups
- Aguilar OBP3 pre
- Hardshell case included.

The bass is in great condition. One scratch in the upper horn and 2 nicks by input jack. Please see pictures for details on this.

*NOTE* I had the original Demeter Preamp on this bass swapped out for the Aguilar. The Demeter will be included.

1983 Fender P Bass
- Sienna Burst
- White 1 ply pickguard
- Alder Body
- Maple neck
- Rosewood Fretboard
- White pickup caps

This bass is really in amazing condition given its age. I have been able to find one nick on the upper bout of the body and one nick on the head stock. There is also a crack in the pickguard by the input jack. Other than that, this bass really looks brand new. I will take apart this bass tonight and get the requisit neck pocket pics, serial number pics, etc. I did check the serial number though and it dates to 1983. More pics on this one tonight when I get home.

I haven't taken them yet. I'm still at work. I'll get some up in a few hours when I get home.

Use your imagination in the meantime. They really are just as pretty as you think they are.

Also, if you want to hear the benny in action, go to www.herorockshard.com The bass was used on all the clips there. Direct to board with only compression being applied.

Can't wait to see photos of the Precision. I'm curious why people are using the term Fullerton for these early 80s non-reissue basses. This is something I've seen in a few ads lately, and it has no real meaning when applied to the standard issue stuff -- which was made in Fullerton California since the beginning of time.

I agree 100%. I don't think that's the issue here but Fullerton is a word that's thrown around alot with the early 80's basses. The only one that really matters with is the Reissues.

I like these early 80's Precisions though and am looking forward to pictures.

It's catching on likely because the early 80's were the end of the "Fullerton era".

Some day will we be saving up to purchase the first wave of "Corona Era basses"?

You all make good a point.

How bout we just call the P Bass an awesome 83 P bass and leave it at that?

I'll even drop the Fullerton part from the ad.
