FS or FT: Alleva Coppolo Sunburst KBP4 - Wille Weeks!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi TB'ers,

For sale is my AC KBP4 bought from Jimmy back in March 2010 directly from Alleva-Coppolo. According to Jimmy, this instrument was out on tour with Wille Weeks on the Clapton Tour. Whether or not that is of interest, it is a fine P-Bass indeed.

It has a couple of minor dings on the back and one on the headstock in the Nitro (as they all do) but nothing egregious - very slight - very clean otherwise - see pix (Lots of glare in pix - please pardon the sunny day photos). FWIW, the dings were put there by Willie not me! It has lived in the latest model AC gig bag in my temperature controlled studio and is in great condition aside from above mention.

IRW fretboard, Maple Neck, and Alder body.

$3175 OBO, CONUSA shipping $40.00

Will consider trades for following:
- Alleva-Coppolo Jazz Body 5-strings (preferred trade)
- NYC Sadowsky 5-String Jazz Bass
- Sadowsky SA 200 Amp Head

Heavily prefer to sell, but the right AC will definitely work, too. Can adjust $$$ +/- as appropriate.

Pix:

Best,

Mike

Very nice, what's the nut width and how heavy is the bass? Is the back of the neck a round C shape or a soft V shape?
Thanks.

Hi bdgotoh,

Weight is 8.5 lbs. on the button. Nut size is 1 3/4". Neck shape is round C shape and very comfy.

Also, FYI: I just looked at the picture I took of the back and it represents the instrument poorly. The back looks like new, with exception of the very light dings, as mentioned in first post. Just an FYI. I'll try to shoot some more pix if the sun comes out tomorrow.

If you buy this bass you will be able to play the bass solo to Donny Hathaway's "Everything's Everything" note for note without even trying.

Seriously, I have almost the exact same bass. It's like buying a 1962 Fender Precision on January 1, 1962 and hermetically sealing it. Totally nails the sound and feel of a Pre CBS Precision bass. I like the Alleva Coppolo headstock and logo better though.

Big bump and good luck with the sale.

Does the neck have a gloss or satin finish? Body finish is nitro?

Hi BIGREDSIX,

Body is Nitro and the neck is gloss finish.

Thanks for the question!
