Hey all. I bought this bass brand new just a couple weeks ago but realized that I am a jazz bass guy. If I could afford to keep this thing, I would but it must move on. It is a prototype for a line that Kevin is going to have CnC'd the bodies and necks. This one is handcarved though and not CnC'd.
Looking to trade for a Jazz 5'er. Prefer ash/maple, but will consider others. Must be 34" scale though. Trades plus cash will work as well so if you have a 2008 or newer Fender Jazz 5 we can talk. Also considering Sadowsky Metro's, Fodera NYC's, AtelierZ M265, etc...
Asking price is $2200 shipped CONUS via Paypal. These basses are going to be $2599 new so save yourself some $$ and get a brand new one... not to mention this is a prototype for the new line Kevin is working on.
Specs are:
Specs-
Model- KXB5- Standard 24
Body- Soft Maple
Neck- Maple with satin black finish
Fretboard- Bolivian Rosewood
Frets- 24
Scale- 34 5/8" (yes, that is correct)
Bartolini Quad Coils and Bart preamp- Volume (Active/Passive), blend, stacked bass/treble, mid -push/pull for freq, coil tap switch
Bridge- Hipshot B style
Tuners- Hipshot Ultralites
Weight- 10lb 3oz
Audio Clips-
Slap tone- http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=9839708
Fingerstyle- http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=9821035

The only thing that I have that is close to what you like is a Nordy vJ5 with Fat Stacks, but after this weekend with it... it's going to be sticking with me!
Why not send it back and have Kevin make you a JXB model? |

Kevin Brubaker sounds like a great guy! I wouldn't mind doing business with him myself.

You know if you can save a few ducks by getting this over a new one! I would def hit Kevin up though place an order if you can. He is great to work with and I have a feeling these basses are going to sell extremely well.
