FS/Ft BTB1005 $350 shipped

See original thread for pics.

Ibanez BTB1005 - $350 shipped

This is the second time I ventured into 5 string territory just to find that I am not a 5 string player. While I have a 5 string Schecter fretless that I can play with no problem, I can not seem to get comfortable with a 5 string fretted. The spacing maybe what it throwing me off on this, but I can get by with just having the fretless 5 string.

Will sell out right for $350 shipped to the lower 48 (like what I payed for it). It comes is an Ibenaz Hardshell case (the original one I assume)

Thanks for looking.

PS trying to sell this head as well FT/FS GK MB2-500 A07, could make a deal if you wanted both.

$325 shipped with a new set of DR Black Beauties (not installed)

Also will to talk trade (plus cash on my end) for USA standard P bass or a Honey Blonde highway 1 P bass

I was doing so research for a potential buyer, A few things became apparent.
Full Disclosure:
I do not know where the bass was made, and there is no Info on the neck
Also, it does not seem to have a serial number on it either.

This may be common on the BTB's, but I do not know.

What are some other basses that have similar necks and string spacing? I've never handled a BTB and, as far as I know, none of the local shops have any in stock. It would be nice to know if it has a similar feel to something I could handle locally to get an idea of what to expect.

It's a wide, flat, 35" neck. String spacing and scale is similar to a Lakland. BTBs in general, have a very nice deep, smooth tone.

The string spacing is in the original thread (19mm), If is fairly wide for a 5 string. The schecter fretless I have is not at all comparable (16mm) I think? I don't think this helps, but it really is the only reference I have...

The strings are so far apart, that when I am playing it, with the floating thumb method, I will forget that it is a 5 string. It feels like my 4 string. The neck is quite wide.

Guys, this is A LOT OF BASS, for $350.00. I owned the Korean model, years ago. They play like a dream. The string spacing makes for an easy move to five string. The 35" scale tightens up the B string. It's been a while, but I've seen these being played on concert stages. I don't have the extra cash or I'd buy it. I almost bought it last time it was up far sale.

Thanks Man! If my hands were a little bigger I would fell more comfortable on this bass.

I can feel some one out there with a Squier VM fretless is just aching to make a trade for this.

No problem. It's all true! I sold my BTB for more than you're asking for this one.

The original thread was when I sold it to Dave. I'm not sure if it's currently available or not.

I'll echo the comparison to the Lackland necks. The BTB has an asymmetrical profile that makes it very comfy. I just prefer a narrow spacing.

Great bass and great TB to deal with.
