I was curious about these, and Spectors in general. Its a super cool bass, just not for me.
I was told it was an '89, but I don't really know for sure.
The marks in the photo are fingerprint smudges, this bass is in impressively good condition for being 20 years old.
Bass has medium-low action. I have probably about 5 hours of playing time on still-fresh Ernie Ball Super Slinkies.
I'm looking for $500 shipped in the continental US.
trades I would be interested include:
A Mark Hoppus Signature bass
An Akai Unibass Pedal
A Flanger, thinking of a Boss, but I'm open to other brands
A Jaguar Bass other than black
A Bronco Bass
Maybe an electric guitar, but I don't want a $500 guitar, so it would have to be +cash, or a ridiculously good deal for me.
Some interesting mid to high end Jazz style basses
no 5 strings.
+/- cash where appropriate.

I'm no spector historian, and there is no model number or country of manufacture on the bass. |

Supposedly the serial number is on the inside of the preamp cover. If you throw regular emgs in it, they sound very close to their big brother. I have one of these preamps in my Czech Spector. PJ Rubal told me that it's basically a Hazlab copy.
Great bass!

I paid very little for my Spector since I got it for cost at the store I worked for. I miss it.

Great bass! | The original NS2A's were made in Korea by Kramer. The later NS2A's were made in Japan for Kramer by Samick. You can tell by the layout of the 4 knobs on the bass. This one's a Korean one. Actually, I think the Korean ones were built better.
IF there is a serial number, it will be on the outside of the preamp cover. MANY did not have serial numbers at all. Most of mine did not. |

Check out the knob layout, along with the body not being as rounded. |

Any bumps? Knicks?
Just cleaner pics would be awesome!
Thanks!

The flash makes it look worse than it is. Its definitely noticeable, but not quite as bad as it looks.
I cleaned it up as much as I could. I don't have any guitar polish or anything. I guess I'm a bass slob.
The pictures are hosted on photobucket, so this is the best I can post here. PM me your email address if you want any higher resolution ones.
Aside from the ding I photographed above, and the wearing of the Spector writing from the pickup, this bass seriously looks brand new.
Even has the "inspected by" sticker on the back.
Now, if you have a super discerning eye, you might notice some things I haven't. Keep in mind its 20 years old. Amazing condition for 20 years old, but still 20 years old. |

I had one of those in translucent sapphire blue. I had it for about 3-4 years and got rid of it when I scaled back to one bass back around 92-93. One of several I wish I still had.
Very nice basses, very nice indeed.
Wish I had the extra $$ (stop me if you've heard THAT before!)
