FS/FT: Custom Geddy Lee 5 string Jazz tribute

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD-SOLD-SOLD.

Custom Geddy Lee 5 string Tribute bass. (sort of)

Here are the specs:
Body; MIM 5 string Jazz bass body - Gloss black Alder

Neck; Warmoth Standard Deluxe 5 string Maple/Maple with Black Block inlays - standard contour, 10" radius, 1 3/4" Graphtec nut, 34" scale 20 frets. 6105 tall/narrow, nickel frets. These are not the bulky "medium/jumbo" frets.

Pickups; MIM single coil (I'll add what ever Jazz spec pickups you like for cost of parts)

Hardware; (black) Hipshot "A" style Fender replacement string through bridge - B string has been drilled for string through body application with standard Fender 5 string Jazz string spacing. Tuners are USA Hipshot Ultralite. Dunlap flush mount strap locks

Passive tone circuit; USA CTS 250K pots, switch craft jack, .047uF Orange drop tone cap, vintage "cloth" wiring.

Extras; body has been completely shielded using shielding paint. Vintage wiring used throughout and has been grounded thoroughly. No hum or hissss. Notice the "ramp" between the pickups. This allows for your thumb placement to be in the "sweet spot" or move it anywhere between the pickups.

Neck; frets have been leveled, crowned, polished, and dressed. Fret board edges have been rounded to give it that "broken in" feel. Headstock has been finished in high gloss poly and the back of the neck has been finished in Oil/Poly blend.

I'm asking $600for this one. You can't buy the parts alone for that much. As usual, add a MONO M-80 Gig bag for just $100.

I'd also consider trading for a MM OLP 5r plus cash or 50's "P" or Tele bass plus cash. I would also consider trades for Fender spec Necks, Bodies, Pickups, etc. plus cash.

Shipping is included to Con US. unless gig bag is added. Then it will be a flat rate of $40. International is fine, please ask for a shipping quote.

Here is a teaser pic.

I know Denny. Times are tough.

Here is a breakdown of just the cost of the major parts incase anyone is wondering.
Warmoth neck with nut - $330
MIM 5 string body - $200 (used)
Hipshot "A" Bridge (brass) - $127
Hipshot ultra lite tuners - $110
Nordstrand NJ5F pickups - $185
TOTAL = $952

Keep in mind I have not added in the cost of; strings, pickguard, controle plate, tone circuit, knobs, neck plate, screws, string tensioner, ramp, straplocks, neck finish, fret work and pro-setup. Easily another $300 - $400 worth of parts and labor depending on who you ask.

Someone is going to get a great deal.

This is a great deal on a pro-quality instrument at an "off the shelf" price.

TGIF bump.

Had some good interest and some great possible deals working, but still available for now.

I would like to have this sold by the end of the weekend. Opening it up to offers.

Thanks for looking.

O.K. how about a littel price drop?

I'll do $800 shipped to Con US. Of course I'll still do a MONO gig bag for an extra $100 or I'll throw in an Original padded Fender gig bag.

I'm loosing money at this price, but I have to move some inventory.

Thanks for looking.

I think that bass is awesome ! One of the nicest I've seen. My only hangup about it is (other than it's not mine) is all 5 tuners across the top ! I know,,,call me vein, but I can't handle that.

I think it looks beautiful, but wish there was a straight on shot of the whole bass.
