Excellent Condition Thorus 4 String Bass built by David Simmons Basses in 2006. $775 Shipped
I've owned 3 David Simmons basses over the years and they are excellent high end basses equal to the other boutique guys. This was hand made in 2006 at his North Carolina shop. Mostly know in the Eastern part of the US. I always liked Dave's unique bass bodies that stood out as something different, but still subtle not flashy. He is a great craftsman. Only reasons I'm selling this is that I made the move to P- Basses some years ago and am used to P-Bass width necks. This is Jazz bass width at the nut. Very fast, smooth playing board with low action. I bought this here on TB forgetting that these have Jazz Bass nut width. I love the tone and feel, but needed wider neck.

Body is Maple
The body top is African Bloodwood with maple, purpleheart stringers (very resonant w/great sustain)
Truss rod works great, this thing never goes out of adjustment
Neck is maple with Pao-Ferro fretboard with great wood grain and color
Comes with decent Fender 80's case and will be very well packed. Have a custom bass for your holiday gigs.

Wide variety of tone capabilities. Great straight ahead thump with neck pick up, great Jazz/ Jaco tones through the bridge pickup and really nice slap tones rolling off the mids. Very versatile.
The Bloodwood is gorgeous.
