Real nice bass. The past few years of it's life have been in a nice smoke-free studio. Sounds great and plays like butter. Not sure what they call this specific shade of silver but it sure is nice and has a matching headstock. 3 band EQ. Has a few dings as shown in the pictures, but nothing very noticeable. Comes with OHSC. Case has a small chip taken out of it and has a few stickers on it.

Looking to get $850 for it. Buyer pays shipping. Money order and paypal accepted. As for trades I'm mostly looking for a Fender Jazz, Lakland Skyline JO, or a Sterling or Stingray HS or HH. Pretty much something with a neck and bridge pickup. 4 or 5 string is fine.

Not affiliated with the seller, but if you compare the serial number with this database (http://myweb.ecomplanet.com/TOWN8019...ompage0029.htm), this bass would appear to be made in the year 2000. Which means it is a ceramic pickup IIRC.

Any ideas on the weight of this nice-looking SR5?

Thanks for the info! I had trouble finding it myself. I'm trying to find a scale to weigh it. Mu guess for the weight would be 9.5 to 10, but I could be off.

Very nice bass and a real bargoon at that price.

Good luck with it.

TD

PS - It's a Ferro-Ceramic pickup, not Alnico.

What do Stingray 5ers look like without the pickguard?

If I were to buy this and put on a 5-string SUB pickguard...would that work?

No it wouldn't. The SR5 pickguard covers up the rout for the preamp and the controls are screwed on to the guard itself. You can't run it without the guard, unless you made a custom control plate.
