Where do I begin?
This is my baby. I bought this in 2007-2008 used from a dealer in New Jersey. I always wanted a Thunderbird and this one exceeded my expectations. The body is VERY light and resonant. The neck is a dream and is very comfy to me. It's maybe a little thinner than a jazz, but the back of the neck is a bit thicker so it's not the bad type of thin like the modern Fender Geddy necks. The finish is typical Gibson nitro which does mean it has little dings in the finish, but nothing that I would consider "scar" like in quality, you have to see the bass up close to even notice them.
Why am I selling this? Two reasons: 1) I'm crazy. 2) I am no longer in a rock band, I play R&B and funk now and I need something more versatile. I've seen lots of threads where people pull these after a while because they're hard to let go of. If I didn't need something else, I'd be in the same boat. Details
2001 Gibson Thunderbird
VERY Light (don't have a scale, sadly) and balances perfectly
Natural finish, Mahogany body
Ebony fretboard, mahogany/walnut neck, abalone dots
1.5 inches at the nut (maybe slightly thinner), FAST
Original Gibson USA Pink lined case with "blanket" Modifications
Tuners: USA Hipshot Ultralite Clovers - Chrome
-The clovers were a bit wider than the original Y tuners, so my luther had to "splay" them a little so they wouldn't bump into each other.
-Each tuner only required one new hole to be drilled, so if you put the originals on, you might not notice the new holes.
-Original Grover Black Y tuners ARE included
Bridge: USA Hipshot Supertone Bridge - Chrome
-Original Gibson black 3-point bridge IS included
Strap Pins: Dunlop Dual-design straplock buttons
-Original buttons are NOT included
ALL WORK DONE BY A VERY GOOD LUTHIER
