FS/FT Feeler '99 EBMM Sterling Birdseye Maple Neck

I'm putting this up with the understanding that I may change my mind tomorrow. Its my pearl blue 99 Sterling that I bought brand new 11 years ago, and until I found this site, I was 100% content with. Its a sub 9lb'er. Weights 141 oz on my postal scale with is 8.875 pounds. The birdseye in the neck, its not overwhelming, its subtle, but its all over the neck and really nice. The pearl blue has a lot of sparkle to it under the right lighting.

The bass itself is in very good shape for an 11 year old player., there are small things here and there. But its been babied for a bass thats seen lots of gigs. A small "depression" in the paint next to the pickguard, a scuff along the bottom edge near the strap button, a small nick on the back of the bass. The end of the headstock also has a couple of light marks. This makes it sound worse than it is, but full disclosure is key.

Ships with its original OHSC, which is a G&G black tolex vintage case, not the molded plastic Music Man case you get now. I'll also send you the original white pickguard in addition to the bass with the black pickguard currently mounted.

Asking $850 shipped for the bass. again very good overall condition, OHSC and the birdseye that you don't see too much anymore.

F/T. I'm particularly interested in your G&L L2000s, Musicman Stingrays in HH configuration. G&L ASATs. Possibly Fender American Deluxe Jazzes. I really dislike sunburst anything so keep that in mind. Love transparent colors, and pastels like sonic blues, seafoam greens.

Sterling neck has a narrower profile. More like a jazz bass, compared to the Stingray's P-bass like profile. Sterling neck has a 1.5" width at the nut. The Sterling sounds very close to the stingray when the pickup selector switch is set to the bridge position (parallel mode). But the Sterling differs by offering two additional pickup configurations. There's a single coil mode and a series mode. The series mode gives more low mids and sounds a little beefier than the typical stingray sound.

"until I found this site, I was 100% content "

Truer words never spoken... I had just my '74 Rick for, like, 18 years until I started hitting this site and others. I still have the Rick (it ain't goin' anywhere) but since then there's been a revolving door of multiple basses. Sheesh...

Sweet bass, BTW. If it had another pickup, we'd be talkin'

thanks for the bump and kind words rev!

jlinnel, if it were a bolt on Thumb we'd be talking. Your corvette is a great looking bass and I'm sure it sounds awesome. If I'm gonna go with a 5 string warwick I gotta have the Thumb.

as for the Spector, thats really tempting because I have a soft spot for Spectors, but again, I'm pretty satisfied with my current 5'er and I'm really looking for something along the lines of an older G&L or Stingray HH.

Thanks for the offers though gentlemen!
