FS/FT: FEELER - Fender Geddy Lee Jazz

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm really on the fence on this one, but thought I'd put it up and see if what comes up. Again this is a FEELER thread so I reserve the right to change my mind daily

The Geddy is in great condition. It looks, feels and sounds like a Geddy should. This bass is in overall great shape. No dings, dents or anything amiss. There are some very minor dimples in the finish but they don't show up in the pics.

Action is low and and currently strung with black beauties but can put a new set of sunbeams on. This Geddy comes with a single ply black pickguard and the original white (but had been painted at some point), (Note: the other white pg and covers in the first pic were sold separately).

Will include a heavy duty Roadrunner gigbag in like new condition (as long as trade comes with a case/bag).

Great sounding, playing and looking bass. It just doesn't get played much and the thin neck just doesn't feel as good to me anymore.

$700 Shipped. $650 Shipped (a little more to the left coast :-)) Trade value would be higher.

Trade interest: really looking for a Fender Precision, but possibly a jazz with a thicker neck. Looking for an even trade or could trade down but really hard to trade up at the moment.

(NOTE: I am VERY partial and have a strong preference for black finishes. Burst and natural are also good. Ideal trade would be a American Special P - Black and Maple, but will consider all others).

- American Special P or J
- Hwy1 P or J
- Reissue or Roadworn P
- CIJ P or J
- Warwick Corvette
- Fender Jazz 24
- Carvin SB4000 or b40
- Squier Matt Freeman
- Peavey VB2 head
- Small 15 in cab or giggable combo

Other things considered for partial trade: Line 6 wireless, Sansamp BD Deluxe, or VT Deluxe.

You know the basic details on the Geddy. This is stock accept for the pickguard and strap locks.

An older black MIA Jazz with the S1 would be great too if willing to trade :-)

A couple of interesting offers but not exactly what I'm looking for. Keep throwing out the offers.

i recently got one of these and i must say its probably the nicest jazz next to a lakland ive owned and a 62 reissue ive played. These are quality bass's and will make anyone happy. Good luck with trade and sale man.

Thanks chasfur but I'll have to pass. I had a Ray for a few months over the summer and it wasn't my thing. I liked the neck on it and they are really well made but I couldn't find 'my' sound with it. Mustangs are cool but I not really what I'm looking for. Great bass if I could get my son or daughter interested.

Thanks!

Thanks duff....It's a great bass and it took me a long time to land one. I switch basses when I play and my other two have a 1.65 neck and much thicker. It throws me off just a bit when I switch around. Not enough to make me 'have' to get rid of it but enough to see what's around.

Updated the OP. All PMs responded. If I missed anyone let me know. A lot of trade offers from a lot of great TBers. I think I'm focused on the those basses on my list.

Thanks guys.

Also, anyone that knows me knows that I have a sweet spot for obscure basses - specifically anything t-bird esque. Spector Rex, Schecter Ultra, LTD Phoenix, Peavey Tragic, Gibson RD, etc.
