SOLD Let me preface this ad with the following: I LOVE this bass. It's so sick and has a vibe that absolutely cannot be replicated (at least IME). HOWEVER, I'm not currently playing out in any capacity and I would like to move forward in other areas of life. A chunk of change like this would certainly help me do that.
I acquired this bass a few weeks ago from a TB'er. It's in great shape, and the only imperfections that I've noticed are some scuff marks around the controls and a touch in the finish on the headstock. Sounds marvelous and like I said, this bass cops a vibe that you won't find elsewhere. Has an additional strap button installed at the neck heel that allows for very good balance. Comes with the OHSC which is also in pretty good condition.
So, I'm thinking $1,200 shipped in the lower 48. OR maybe a trade for a Ric. There's not much else that's going to tempt me right now. I'm very much on the fence about letting this go, so I'm reserving the right to pull the ad.

If you'd like to make an offer, feel free. Trade interests would be just about anything of equal value that has somewhat of a traditional styling.

But I've never seen the back of one of these until now. Just for informational purposes, what is the snapped on leather(?) circle on the back? What does it cover? That's not covering an actual hole in the body is it? Just curious. Thanks |

To clarify, this bass is Japanese just like the current high end models, including the White Falcon.

I Googled around trying to figure it out and didn't get much info. that's one interestingly bizarre idea/feature. thanks |
