I love the tone of this bass going through my MB LMT/LDS 15/6/1 rig but sometimes you just have to shake things up a bit. Wish I could afford to do so outright but cash is tight so I have to let this one go before I can bring in another.
This 2008 Korean 44-02 is a beaut! It has the Lakland/Hansen LH3 preamp system and pickups and has been Plek'd at the factory (or so I was told by the previous owner). Weighs about 9.2 lbs. and includes a Lakland Levi gigbag. I always well-pack my basses and ship fully insured.
(NOTE: There was an almost-identical 44-02 for sale here a couple of months ago which the seller admitted had extensive fret wear. THIS IS NOT THAT BASS! The frets are in great shape as is just about everything else!)
I'd like to consider trades first. As you will see, I'd like to go back to an old-school passive sound. Cash can be added (or will be expected) to balance trades when appropriate. Four-bangers only, please - I tried the fiver route and it just doesn't click for me. Also, I'm getting to be something of a geezer so I prefer my basses to be weighing no more than 9.5 lbs, thanks.
Basses I'd like to try (in approximate order of preference):
G&L L1000 BABP Edition with 1.5" neck.
Lakland Skyline Duck Dunn
Lakland DPLE II
Fender 75 RI / 62 RI JazzLakland Skyline Decade
Lakland Skyline Darryl Jones 4 (especially the AC edition!)
Lakland Skyline Joe Osborne 4
Ernie Ball MM Stingray 4HH or 4HS SLO Special (yeah, I know they're not passive - still killer, though...)
Fender Hot Rod Precision
Fender American Standard Pbass (Olympic White/Rosewood)
Fender American Special Pbass (same colors)
Fender Geddy Lee (sunburst)
If a suitable trade doesn't surface within the couple of weeks or so, I'll consider selling it outright depending on whether a preferred replacement is available out there.
Before I go, some more photos to whet the appetite!:
