FS/FT feeler: USACG custom bass for your Fender American Vintage '62 Jazz Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD!

Hey guys,

I have a USACG custom bass i put together a while back. It's a great Marcus Miller vibe (it's basically a sadowsky copy), but i'm going more vintage these days. Hence, the FT option:

I'd like an AV '62 Jazz. Color isn't that important to me. Condition is something we can talk about.

Here's a link to the thread with some info. I'll update those photos with some of the changes i've made to the bass since it's initial completion (all the pics are from the initial completion) and put those in the thread.

Currently strung with DR hi beams 105-45 (i told you, Marcus you know?)

Specs:

Body:
Jay Jr. in featherweight swamp ash with customer[me]-supplied spalted maple top (www.exotic-woods.com)
Std. J/J pickup routes
Rear control rout
Contoured heel for upper fret access
Heel-adjust access rout
Clear gloss poly finish by Roxy

Neck:
4 string maple neck with 3A birdseye fretboard
12" radius
0.800" thickness
21 fret extension
6230 (vintage) frets
std. black dots
rolled edges
Satin poly finish by Roxy

Electronics:
Sadowsky preamp w/VTC
Sadowsky Single Coils

Hardware:
Hipshot ultralight tuners 1/2" post (black)
Hipshot bass x-tender (black)
Hipshot B style bridge 0.812 spacing (black)
Oversized strap buttons (circular, not rectangular) from Bass parts resource
standard fender-style neck plate (black) Edit: i've since installed four black screws and ferrules (more modern look)
electrosocket jack (stew mac) (black)
all black screws and black string retainer

Weighs 8.8 lbs on bathroom scale

Had Mike Gardner at Skips Music in Sacramento, CA do the nut install and electronics soldering and setup. Great job Mike!

For an outright sale, i'd like to get as much for it as i could. All said and done, it was about $1700. I know custom projects lose A LOT of value, and i'm prepared for that, so just it me up if you're interested!

Thanks for looking,
-Anthony

Thanks Joker!

Yeah, i'm feeling like i don't have that "passive jazz" sound (i mean...it sounds like a sadowsky!). But maybe i'm crazy to let it go?

someone's offered $1600 on ebay! That's a pretty good deal if you ask me -- for a custom bass, you know?

So, call it SOLD for now. She was a good one!
