FS: Yamaha TRB-6P Natural Finish...Beautiful!

Sign in to disble this ad
Only had this for about a month, and I just can't get used to the 6 string. Maybe one day. For now I'll stick to 4's and 5's. Haven't seen any of the old TRB's in a natural finish like this before. Believe me, the wood is beautiful in person. Overall it's in pretty good shape, there is some minor nicks in the headstock which I will photograph if someone wants, but it's nothing major and what you'd expect. Comes with a Wolfpak, missing a pair of the rubber feet though.
WolfPak Bass Guitar Polyfoam Case and more Stringed Instrument Cases, Gigbags & Covers at GuitarCenter.com.

No longer interested in trades, I need to sell this to finance a double bass. I'd like to sell this for $1550 $1300 shipped CONUS OBO. Comes with a free bonus set of D'Addario EXL170-6 strings, which is what is is currently strung with.

...was just jones'ing for one of these 5 minutes ago and now this. This is probably the nicest looking TRB-6P I have seen. Couldn't be a re-finish, could it? The grain is too awesome for that to have ever been painted in the first place. Bet the upper register tone is super creamy.

Wow, would I love to get my hands on this but it just isn't in the cards for now.

Cheers.

Fairly certain the finish is original. It actually has a very smooth satin type finish. It really is the prettiest TRB I've seen aside from the JP's

According to the Yamaha site they only came in "Translucent Blue, Red Blonde, Translucent Red Sunburst"....I have had all three and do not remember any other colors ever available....and never a satin finish of this model..... but if ti is a refin, they did a beautiful job.

Accord to what I've read, this is an early model as indicated by its single truss rod, as opposed to having two. Perhaps the earlier models came in different finishes, or it was one of the first ones? Maybe not, to be honest I don't know. And if it is refinished I don't think it detracts from the beauty of this bass.

Yes I believe this is MIJ as the older TRBs were. The 6PII is the newest version of this model. Different woods, electronics, scale length, but the overall concept of the bass is the same.

Ha! I bid against you for this bass on ebay last month! Sorry, can't go that high, but love the unique condition of this bass. Yes, they did NOT make a satin natural finish on the TRB-6P's - this has to be somebody's strip/refin job - nicely done too. (check the control or pickup cavities for any color remnants). If I recall the auction, the pickups are original, but the preamp was swapped out and the piezo bridge pickup is disconnected.
Here's a Good Luck Bump!

The piezo is definitely not disconnected. You can see the "Yamaha" logo on the pickups, though it is very worn away and barely there. I opened up the control cavity and the circuit board says Yamaha. No signs of the original finish. Make me an offer if the price is too high. Any offer will be considered

Man this thing is beautiful. I know a Stingray 4HH is a longshot, so I won't even bother...

Good luck!
