FS/FT: Fender Amer. Spec. P/J "customized" TRADED! So I put alot of thought and effort into this 'project'... thought it would be "the bass"- but it just isn't working for me :bawl: I have a few other P's- so I don't have to 'make it work'... bass plays nicely- just, sadly, doesn't feel right for me! It is set up with a volume and blend pots... just use the blend pot as the 'tone control'... Heres what she is made of: Amer. Spec. P bass body (thx SeismicAssault-TB) Amer. Spec. J neck (The Bay...) Lindy Fralin P & J(+10%) p/u's (thx Eric Swaim-TB) Fender Hi-mass bridge Fender Custom Shop 'plaid' neckplate CTS 500k volume and blend pots (Stew-Mac) Switchcraft input jack Fender (Amer. Std.) Tortoise pg Allparts Chrome Heavy Knurl Barrel Knobs Currently strung with brand new LaBella 760QL quarter rounds (.042-.060-.082-.104) Has a few minor scratches and one very small 'dent'on the front of body and the back of the body could use a buff and polish (has some light marks)... neck is in perfect shape! The pickguard is a bit older and is swirly and scuffed. Am interested in a 'mint green' or 'vintage cream' Sterling Ray34 Classic Active Electric Bass + a few dollars... or let me know what you have. Would prefer a 'local trade or sale' (I am near Baltimore, Maryland) but will ship if necessary. Sale price is $725.00 + shipping CONUS. I am leaving the country from Feb.18-Mar.7... but thought I would post, anyway, see if there is interest! Heres a post to the original 'project'. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/ame...mation-908739/ |
and two more... couple more pics showing J p/u route and 'Custom Shop' neckplate... |
A few questions, if you don't mind: How would you describe its native tone? Thick? Dark? Bright? Thumpy? Articulate? What kind of wood is the body made from? How much does she weigh? Gracias! :D |
Quote:
I would describe as 'articulate'. I wanted the Fralins for their 'clarity' (have several other Fralin p/u's)... I tend to play a bit hard- and they 'tell all'! I really don't know the wood type- my luthier thought it is Alder... but doesn't know for sure. (he routed it for the J-p/u) Weight is... 8.75lbs. |
weight just weighed-in at Post Office: 8.75lbs. |
heres a few more pics! heres a few more pics! |
