FS/FT: Fender Big Block Precision

I got this recently on a trade since it met my criteria of 'something a little different'. Very nice bass, but the sound just isn't for me. I've wanted to try one out for a while. It's definitely got it's own sound, unique to the Fender line.

The bass is in very good shape, with mostly minor swirling. It does have one chip that is to the wood on the bottom edge. It can't be seen from the front and is the way I got it. Otherwise it's in nice shape.

It's a sharp looking bass and sounds really good, just not for me. The neck is really nice, but the fret edges could be better. I've read this is unfortunately common on the Big Blocks.

The Big Block used a Double Jazz Humbucker. The the controls are volume and a treble/bass stacked tone (boost and cut for each). It also has a tone selector which seems like a mid booster. 18V electronics. There is a good range of tones, but it's just not for me.

Not sure what to price it at. These seem to be pretty rare. Theres a few on eBay and some on CL. Putting it up for $450 shipped (maybe more to the west sorry). I don't have the gigbag but may be able to ship in an older TKL case.

Looking for a nice 5 string. Really want to grab a Warwick but also very interested in the Fender Jazz 24 V. All others considered.

Cool bass! Is it MIA, MIJ or MIM? What does it weigh?

They are MIM. Not sure about the weight. Seems on par with some of the Jazz basses I've had. I'd say 9.5 -10lbs but I may be wrong. It's heavy for a P.

Woe is me bump....

Sorry for any delays in any response. I will respond to all PMs as soon as possible. My basement flooded again and had to install an emergency sump pit and pump. Need to excavate and put some drains in over the weekend.

No worries...all my gear is high and dry :-)

Pulling this down. There may be an issue with the truss. I may separate and sell the body.
