FS (FT) Fender Classic Series 70's Jazz Bass MIM $600 obo

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi TB folk,

I have for sale about a year and half old MIM Fender Classic Series 70's jazz bass in sunburst with block inlayed rosewood neck...it is in great shape (other than the holes in the body made to put the ashtray cover on - finish kinda cracked around the screw hole - minor detail on an otherwise great condition bass!!) & sounds awesome...gigged plenty...this is a beauty and my pics don't do much justice...I am hoping to get $600obo + actual shipping from Canadian Postal Code S4S 1S9

The only addition items that are not stock is the genuine Fender replacement tortoise shell pickguard...schaller strap locks...Fender "F" chrome ashtray cover...Fender Chrome pickup cover...thumbrest...and a rough cream coloured paint job on the plastic pickup covers - kinda worn - doesn't affect the pickup sound/electronics at all (about $5 to replace with black/white/cream pickup covers)

Been professional setup and maintained...great four string jazz!!!

The reason I am selling is I JUST recv'd a Lakland 55-60 (JO5) (sunburst with blocks like this one but a lakland skyline fiver -freakin WOW) SOOOOO....I will use the SAME packaging that Bass Northwest used to send that bass to me to ship this one away....the Fender Gig bag will not fit in the inside cardboard bass box (bass will be in a box inside a box and very well packaged!!) so no case or gig bag for this sale....my Lakland showed up from Seattle in one piece so I am sure the Fender will be fine delivered to your door...

OK...on to the pics...see the next post...so far...the pics aren't uploading...d'oh

pics and trade options...

please pm me with your email address for more pics and i will send along more photos...

as for trade options...has to be a "plus cash my way scenario"

I need a cheap-ish backup bass...such as
Squier Classic Vibe...P or J
Sterling Ray 34 in natural
Japanese P or J knockoffs etc...

or...

higher end gig bag for my Lakland...
Mono Case
iGig bag
Reunion Blues gig bags

no scale....

Hey there...I realize someone is eventually gonna ask me the weight on this one...i do NOT have a scale at the house....BUT I am guessing it is in the 10-11 lbs range...not the lightest bass....very similar to the new Lakland 55-60 5'er in weight actually...

These are gorgeous in person. I can't get my pictures to do mine justice either.

re - trade option....

i am afraid i need to have some dough in my pocket after any potential trade...so as much as i like the Dirnt Pre's....it isn't the right deal for what i am after right now...

As a matter of fact, i am surprised I haven't seen more trade offers...heck....a red classic vibe pre and a few hundred bucks and we are in business...i am a more than fair kinda dude and i am certainly open to offers for a straight cash deal or whatever...but i need a beater "backup" bass to accompany the Lakland on gigs or a sweet gig bag....just to clarify....thanks TB'ers!

I have this bass with similar mods of the pickup cover and tort guard; it's the best MIM I ever owned--surpasses my MIJs as well. Great buy!

final bump...

after this one....I am going to pull the ad and sell locally...next to zero bites on this one....strange...

PS. I have sold about five items and bought a few on TB and never had any issues on either side...BUT no one left any feedback so please don't be concerned about that...I have sold an Aggie DI-900, Marcus Miller V, Greco Jazz Bass...etc.. and all arrived safe and sound to happy end users...maybe they were too happy to leave feedback?? Anyway, last call for this one folks...

Thanks!
