I have been gigging this bass lately and it's my new life partner. I am so incredibly thankful that this bass did not sell. Thread Closed
My Custom Shop jazz looks, plays, and sounds amazing. Body is Ice Blue Metallic, Neck is unbound maple with white abolone block inlays. Weight is aproximately 8 - 8.5lbs.
Will trade for a Musicman StingRay "Classic Series" IV with maple neck
Here is sound clip of my bass: http://www.gigmasters.com/presskit.a...b=y&audio=y#av
My bass is not mint. I would say 8.5 out of 10. There are some blemishes. Pics to this effect will be emailed. Value =$1625
I will sell outright. Make me an offer.
All inquiries are welcome:

This color combo with a one piece unbound maple neck is rare. If only you could feel this neck my friend...like butter...truly like butter! |

So now I am looking for a second as a back up.
I can't really tell you why, as I don't know myself, but I just have a thing about rosewood boards.
But yours IS particularly sweet!
This is the one I just got:

I had never seen a CS Custom Classic that looked like it (I have had several people question whether it is actually a CS Custom Classic!)
It would make a nice pairing with yours! |

Although I prefer passive vintage style basses, this CS Jazz caught my eye. I played her for a couple hours or so and then tore myself away. I was haunted (literally laying in bed at night thinking about it) by this bass for about a week and couldn't help but to return and make the purchase! |

"Haunted" is a great description! only I couldn't wait a week. I went back a couple of days later and took her home with me. |

Agree with autofile...a rosewood board would kill, although this blocked maple ain't looking too bad right about now.
How much for an outright sale? |

The neck is truly a thing of beauty!!! It is very rare and I have never seen this paint combo paired with an unbound maple neck on any other CS jazz. Thanks for the bump!! |

Thanks for the bump!! | There's a five string in exactly this color & maple neck combo in a local store and I have been loitering around it for a couple of weeks now. Very nice and thick sound, even for a maple neck. If I was looking for a 4-string I'd take you up on this. They are extremely well-built and well-executed instruments. These Custom Classics are now discontinued.

Actually, I have only seen the Ice Blue Mettallic with maple neck on 5 strings. To each there own, but I think that proper EQ can make maple sound like rosewood, and rosewood sound like maple. My personal preference for maple comes from the ability to EQ to my taste, and the way that a neck crafted from a single piece of wood feels in my hands. I think it feels "faster". |
