This is a 1998 Fender Jazz deluxe 5 string Bass, made in Mexico. It's a nice bass, all stock, in great condition except for the neck; it has an underbow and the truss rod is completely tightened. In it's present condition, the bass is fully playable; I would describe the action as "medium" (about what I normally set my own basses at), but I want to be very up front about the fact that there is a problem with the neck.
Everything else works as it should on this bass. It looks really nice (there are some scratches on the top/rim (by the bridge) as shown in the photo (the other marks on the top are reflections). It sounds great and it actually plays pretty good as it is.
Fender lic. necks are available (Allparts, Mighty Mite?) and repairing this neck is not out of the question (though will most likely be a lot of work).
$300 shipped to con. U.S. I am open to offers. As for trades; I am a P-Bass guy, but I do like off the wall stuff as well. Always interested in parts (pickups/bridges/tuners/???). No case included, though a new Guardian universal gig bag is available for $40 & a Guardian universal hard case for $60.
Note: Lower photo is somewhat deceptive... There is more underbow than it appears... not unplayable, but it is there; I just want to make that clear. The Mid-control knob is included as well.
