I recently traded my MIM P for this at the local shop, and it's really just not my thing. Sounded great at the store and solo at home, but I couldn't find a tone I liked that worked well with my band. This rather interesting Fender is made in Korea, tobacco burst, 24 frets with 3 band EQ, blend, push-pull active/passive on the volume knob, and a slap (mid scoop) switch. Stock SD Basslines pickups. Fantastic looking and playing bass, which is why I'm a bit sad that I couldn't make it work for me. I guess I wanted it to sound like my ATK...what was I thinking?
The only blemish on this bass is from a previous owner, who moved the strap button from the horn to the back of the neck, then removed it, leaving a screw hole in the back of the neck. I was going to have a local luthier fix it up, as its just a simple cosmetic fix, but I'll leave that for the new owner. Pics will be posted later tonight hopefully.
I'd like $500 shipped (Paypal OK) or any interesting trade offers. I'm still looking for a second bass, so I'll consider just about anything. Of particular interest would be a Musicman SUB5 or I would consider throwing some cash in for a MM Sterling 5. Other trade suggestions welcomed. Thanks!

I swapped out the pickups to Bartolini stacked humbuckers and installed a OPB 3 with a hi end rolloff/vintage tone knob makes this bass so versatile. This bass makes the boutique basses my friends have sweat, and I have played a lot of them. I can't believe such an inexpensive bass sounds so good.
Good luck with the sale. Someone grab this and get a killer setup on it and you wont regret it. |
