FS/FT: Fender Precision Lyte DELUXE Japan

Fender Lyte DELUXE

Make sure to scan the entire thread. There's a LOT of photos throughout. First photos are taken indoor with a flash. The remainder are outdoors for proper sunlight.

Japanese made, split neck and humbucking bridge pickup, full active electronics with volume and pickup blend, plus separate high/mid/low cut and boost EQ, string thru body, natural wood finish. And seriously LIGHT as the name implies - 7.4lbs.

Overall really good condition considering the age and the fact it's a natural wood body. Normal dents, dings, scratches on the body. Normal finger wear around the pickups. Bridge is tarnished as brass ones always get with age. There's minor fret wear. And one PROFESSIONALLY repaired crack on the back of the headstock near the the low E tuner. The repair man said it was not related to the screw, which was both of our assumptions prior to the repair. The crack did not go all the way through the headstock, it was present on the bottom/back primarily. The repair is stronger than the original wood according to the repair pro.

SALE: $550 shipped in the US.
TRADE: for/towards a fretted 4 string with a more classic pick guard look. Preferably a MIA Precision Standard. But something painfully simple and boring and passive.

Sunlight photos, including more of the crack as requested by some potential buyers. As I've tried to describe, the crack is primarily on the back near the tuner screw which I'm assuming is the origination. Based on my limited knowledge of woodworking I'm going to assume someone didn't drill the screw hole properly before installing the screw. I've tried to photograph the crack as best I can to show how it faintly traverses the side of the headstock but doesn't travel to the front of the headstock.

Happy to answer any other questions.

Sorry, the only scale I actually own is a 5lb kitchen scale. But it's extremely light. According to some online reviews I read it's right around 7lbs.

Seriously?

He's put up a lot of good pics, why should he upload one of the scales? Sounds like you wouldn't believe him if he just answered your question. Then again maybe I'm just interpreting incorrectly.

Heh, if I owned a scale there'd be pics of it already. No worries on my end.

Please, ask all the questions you need.

Free bump for a great bass. Yours looks in better condition than mine!
I love the sound of these basses. Very rich tone, even straight into a mixer with no processing at all.

Thanks for the reply gastric and understanding what I was asking. These have been going for up $676 for a perfect mint on ebay as of late so this seems like a pretty good deal. If you get a chance to weigh it let me know. Thanks!!!

At my shop getting a pro repair of the tiny crack by the tuner so you guys can stop PMing me questions about it and finally buy this bass. Wood repairs, like welding metal, are actually stronger than the original wood. Better than new!

Crack in the headstock has been PROFESSIONALLY repaired.

Bass weighs exactly 7.4lbs according to the shops shipping scale. Photo taken with my cell, sorry for the poor quality.

Now lets get on with the buying and selling!
