While I hated the C string instead of the B, I realized that the smaller scale and string spacing is really the way I want to go. So I'm seeing if anyone has a 33" scale Fodera that they're willing to trade before I just go ahead and sell mine to fund a new one.
What I'm REALLY looking for is basically a MG Imperial 5 but with the extended B headstock and is strung B-G. However I'm pretty flexible as long as it's a 33" scale and smaller string spacing. Just had this bass appraised for $11,500 so I'd be comfortable selling for $8500 + shipping if I can't find a bass to trade for. It's in incredible condition. Here are the specs:
34" scale
19mm spacing
Ash body
Flamed maple tone block
3 piece maple neck
Birdseye maple fb
Olive non-solid top
Duncan/Fodera dual coils (fit to EMG shape)
ebony ramp
2011 Pope pre
10.1 lbs.

I was equally disappointed when the guys at Fodera told me this. However, the bass was updated in 2011 with the newest Pope preamp. |

It's the most incredible 5 string I've ever played and as much as I'd like a 33" scale Imperial I can't really see parting with this bass right now and waiting 15+ months for a new one! I'll keep this page up until the weekend and if it's not gone by then I'm closing the thread!!!! |
